Benton is a city located in Saline County, Arkansas, offers the best of both worlds. Saline County is located only 22 minutes from downtown Little Rock but the atmosphere is relaxed, warm and friendly. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 21,906. Located halfway between Little Rock and Hot Springs along I-30, Benton makes a perfect home base for those wanting to visit both communities while partaking of Benton's charms as well. This excellent location gives Saline County the transportation edge whether by highway, rail, air or water transportation. Benton is 20 minutes away from Little Rock Regional Airport and has four railway systems.

There are 9 Elementary Schools, 2 Junior High Schools and 5 Public High Schools to serve Benton. Education is highly regarded by the city and its goal has been to offer a firm foundation through its schools.
The picturesque town square is the focal point of the community. Don't miss the oddity of the Gann Museum, the only known structure in the world made of bauxite aluminum ore. The Royal Theatre, now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, hosts live theatrical productions. Both Benton and nearby Bryant provide antique seekers amply opportunity to search for treasures with several antique malls on both sides of the interstate. The Saline River has excellent fishing, scenery and backcountry floating for the outdoors enthusiast.
Benton has excellent recreational activities including sporting events, horse racing, symphonies, ballets, museums, shopping, and two country clubs.
